This has been our love child for the past month or so, and we are pleased [euphoric/relieved/excited] to be able to finally announce that “Bicoastal Perspectives” has finally been completed, uploaded, and available for sale via the online publishing site, Blurb! After weeks of assembling our images, going through the painstaking task of doing editing and layout mockups, falling asleep during conference calls at 3AM (EST), and pulling our hair out over some technical challenges (OK, some of us admittedly are now going bald), we somehow managed to meet our target release deadline of December 6. I suppose now that we have finished the project, we can say that over all it was a challenging but rewarding experience. Personally, the most difficult obstacle was really finding an easy and efficient way of sharing all of the photo files, and doing the creative layout work, not to mention the time difference between NY and CA. I’ve never used Blurb before, and I was impressed with the relative ease in using their book template designs, but seriously, they need to offer the ability to create custom templates or be able to print from .pdf files! (And why do some photo page layouts leave so much margin for a teeny tiny page number in a fixed size text box! Drives me nuts!) Anywho, we’re eagerly awaiting our shipment to see our work in hard copy, but we invite you all to check out some previews of the book at the link below!
